ABOUT US

Leslie A. Barnett is a Registered Architect with over 20 years experience in design and construction. She is a certified LEED AP in Design and Construction and a BPI Certified Building Analyst & Envelope Specialist.

Ms. Barnett’s experience covers a wide range of building types:

  • multi-family housing
  • high-rise hotels, mixed-use buildings
  • religious institutions, schools, and fitness centers
  • custom residential and restoration work

Prior to establishing her own firm, Ms. Barnett worked at a number of NYC architecture firms and for five years as the Construction Manager and In-House Architect for a NYC owner/contractor/property manager who maintained a real estate portfolio of multifamily rental properties.

Working as a Project Manager and Job Site Supervisor, Ms. Barnett developed a keen ability to deal with issues that often get lost in translation between design ideals and construction reality. By taking her experience into the field, she significantly expanded her knowledge of construction practices, making her an effective liaison with contractors which often leads to time-savings and cost-savings.

Ms. Barnett has been involved with the design or construction of over 200 apartments in NYC and has personally filed many construction projects with the NYC Department of Buildings. She has completed feasibility studies, zoning analyses, project budgets, and schedules. Her ability as an effective public speaker has contributed to her successfully gaining approval for projects from the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. She has both the creative ability and the practical knowledge to fulfill her contracts.
